Our project

Feminization of poverty is determined by several aspects, which are not on an equal basis to men, such as the process of integration of women into the labor market, continuity, promotion and work conditions.

Our goal is to promote the integration into the labor market of women from three vulnerable social groups (immigrants, single mothers and caregivers) by developing their employability as the key factor in order to avoid their social exclusion. This will contribute to reduce social and economic inequalities.

All the members will exchange the knowledge and experience gained through intervention, to analyze the factors that make these women especially vulnerable, their reality and the obstacles that they face as well as the potential that they can offer to the labor market. Then, the conclusions obtained will be applied to the beneficiaries of the project and a final report with recommendations and methodological keys will be elaborated in order to improve the results of the work placement actions undertaken by the Spanish employment office.

Every member will equally contribute to the factual analysis that may have both positive and negative influences in the employability of vulnerable women by verifying and compiling these factors in the final report with recommendations and methodological keys. However, each association will focus on the specific characteristics of their target group: Mujeres Opañel (Opañel Women) on immigrant women, Federación de Asociaciones de Madres Solteras (Federation of Associations of Single Mothers) on single mothers and Fundación Mujeres (Foundation for Women) on non-professional caregivers.

The project will be developed in Madrid, Asturias, Zaragoza and Ciudad Real.
